Hebrew & Yiddish

Jewish Studies offers language courses in modern conversational Hebrew, Biblical Hebrew, and Yiddish, and a separate course in English, Languages of the Jews (JWSH 338 [JWSH 339 Honors]).

Hebrew Placement

Students who have had some modern conversational Israeli Hebrew and wish to take further courses must take a Hebrew Placement exam.

Students who have never had any modern conversational Israeli Hebrew may enroll in HEBR 110, offered each Fall, without taking the Hebrew Placement exam.
